Cognia AI is a free AI study tool built for Australian university students. We turn lectures, PDFs and notes into flashcards, quizzes, podcasts and an AI tutor that cites the exact slide, page or lecture timestamp it draws from.

Why Cognia AI exists

Studying at uni in Australia in 2026 means juggling lecture recordings, PDFs, slide decks, scribbled notes, and a half-finished essay due Friday. General-purpose chatbots are useful for explaining ideas, but they don't know what your lecturer said and they can't cite the slide it came from. Cognia AI does both.

We built Cognia AI because the loop students actually need is bring your own material in, get back study tools you can trust, revise, repeat. Everything in the product is shaped around that loop. Nothing else.

What we believe

• Grounded beats general. An answer cited to your actual lecture timestamp is more useful than a confident-sounding paragraph from a model that's never seen your course.
• Free should be useful. Our free plan is enough to take a full subject through a 5-week exam cycle. We limit volume, not features.
• Study aid, not cheat sheet. Cognia AI helps you understand and remember your own material. We don't write essays for you, and we strongly discourage submitting AI-generated work as your own.
• Your content is yours. We never sell your uploads, never use them to train shared models, and never show them to anyone else.

How Cognia AI works

1. Bring your material. Record a lecture in the browser, upload a PDF or slide deck, or paste your notes.
2. Cognia AI organises it. The system transcribes audio, parses documents, and writes structured notes you can search and tag.
3. Pick your study mode. Switch freely between flashcards, quizzes, podcasts and the AI tutor. Every mode pulls from the same source material.
